Following the successful completion of the lengthy process to achieve the recognised standard EN13432, we have been advised that our biodegradable & biocompostable absorbent meat pads Dri-FreshTM ResolveTM has now been approved by ASDA (Walmart).

New Website - New Products 14-02-2008 |

Along with our imminent move to our new factory, we are currently building a new website too! We have many new products to tell you about and we need to expand the site to show you all of these PLUS much more....
The new site will have the facility for our customers to log-in and get an advanced preview of all our products currently in development before they go fully commercial. This feature will give a heads-up to view all our new product developments that we believe will be helping to shape the future of packaging.
In our business sector, Sirane can now boast one of the largest development teams in Europe. Working directly with our customers, we aim to fulfill the demanding requirements of the retailers and keep our customers at the forefront with our product developments and emerging technologies.

Sandra Evans joins Siranes Sales Team - PRESS RELEASE 21-01-2008 |
|
The UK's premier packaging solutions company, Sirane has appointed Sandra Evans as UK Sales Executive.
Sandra joins Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Sirane Sales Director at the forefront of the Sirane marketing and sales effort: Responsible for all but a handful of Sirane's UK clients, Sandra has already developed product niches for a number of key Sirane products, including the Dri-Fresh Resolve Absorbent Cushioning Fruit Pad and the company's Ovenable Foil Tray Inserts; the latter are set to enhance Sirane's fastest-growing product lines of 'cook-in' packaging.
Sandra joins Sirane from Polymer Laboratories; she has a degree in Biochemistry in Biomedical Sciences and her career experience includes a period of work as a forensic analyst at the Home Office. Sandra's skills also include teaching as a Blackbelt First Dan Instructor in kickboxing. 'The sport gives a real sense of personal confidence,' she says, 'and the instructional element trains you in 'holding the floor' and working with participants and clients and a general audience.'

Whats new in 2008? Well a new facility to start with! 07-01-2008 |

2007 was another good year for us. We continued to grow the business and recognised that as a development company we had some exciting projects in the pipeline, which we could not do without expanding our people and manufacturing base. The first phase has seen expansion of our scientific, engineering and sales team and to complete the jigsaw, we have now just signed the contract on our new manufacturing facility.
Sirane announces that early this year we will be moving into a brand new building based in Telford. The site itself is 110,000sq/ft of which we will occupy approximately half from March onwards. The structure and quality of the building is exceptional and we have consulted with some of our key customers on the design of its internal layout. With this in mind, we are confident it will be the best absorbent product manufacturing site in Europe.
We are also installing new bespoke laminating systems which will enhance our ability to produce absorbent meat pads and biodegradabable absorbent meat pads for the food industry.

Sirane has a successful show in Chicago 30-10-2007 |

Sirane recently exhibited at the The World Wide Food Expo - Chicago and had a fantastic show. Simon commented \"We have been looking to expand our business geographically and feel it's the right time for us to expand into the US. This show has been great for us. We have made many good contacts which have given us the confidence to go ahead with our plans to set up a manufacturing site out here as soon as possible\"
Sirane presented the whole range of absorbent products at the show with a lot of interest in our biodegradable absorbent meat pads, Dri-Fresh Resolve. Also, our oven and microwave packaging products and some new technologies we are developing.
Ian Beardsall presented Sirane Engineering's capabilities with on-line pre-padding machinery as well as the the new Auto Tying system to complement our absorbent cook-in bags. More to follow on this shortly!

Sirane prepares for new markets and packaging growth 06-10-2007 |

'The UK's premier packaging solutions company, Sirane, is set for a busy few weeks this autumn; exhibiting in Chicago, USA, at the end of this month; leading the food packaging debate at the Packaging News London seminar on November 21 and at the same time taking part in the 2nd European Bioplastcs conference in Paris.
'We are extremely busy all across the board,' says Sirane director Simon Balderson, 'and our role in explaining and developing new packaging for new needs is in demand. 'Enquiries and interest in the USA, for example, are such that we we exhibit in late October we will be intending to setting up a Sirane manufacturing site to service the US demand.'

Sirane exhibited at the CRS show this week and announced the totally new Dri-FreshTM ResolveTM bio-compostable, bio-degradable absorbent pads with a highly developed surface to eliminate meat discolouration whilst retaining moisture.
We were showing our new Crisp-ItTM range of products also and were expecting most of the enquiries to be in this product sector in line with the shows theme however, although we had a great show in relation to these products, we were very much surprised to see Dri-FreshTM ResolveTM get so much attention here.

Sirane are pleased to announce the arrival of Dri-FreshTM ResolveTM which we believe to be the ultimate absorbent meat presentation surface ever!
Sirane set out to achieve not only a totally bio-compostable absorbent product, but to also solve the issue of meat discolouration in food packs which our customers tell us is a big problem.
Three years in development, Dri-FreshTM ResolveTM provides a unique highly developed 'Meat Presentation Surface' providing exceptional 'Meat Saver' characteristics which completely eliminates meat discolouration over the life of the pack. It also extends further to control the surface moisture of the meat which ensures the underneath looks as good as the top. Combine this with full bio-compostability and you can see why we think this product is special!

Product Update 2006 22-12-2006 |

Following the successes of 2005, we have further enhanced our ranges with new innovative products. These include four different sized Crisp-it susceptor boards for microwaving burger buns. We worked with leading meat processor, Kepak, to develop a substrate that would crisp up the base of the bun, replacing traditional soggy bread. These are available in all supermarkets and fast food outlets under the "Rustlers" brand name.
In 2007 we will be launching a whole range of various susceptor "crisping-up" products, suitable for pizzas, pasties, meat slices and sausage rolls etc
In addition, we worked closely with a leading housewares manufacturer and distributor on three new products which are about to be launched nationally through supermarkets and home and gardening stores. These are absorbent scented sheets for the base of kitchen bins, which perfume the bin whilst catching any drips from broken bags; A brand new way of crisping up baked potatoes in a microwave using Sirane`s revolutionary susceptor technology and another microwave sheet for cooking bacon which prevents the food splashing and staining the sides of the oven.
We have also been very busy branching out in different directions. Leading protective dental bib supplier, Collardam plc, approached us to develop two types of absorbent bibs which protect clothing. These are now being marketed internationally and are proving very popular.
In addition to this we have launched cushioning absorbent pouches for the transportation of blood and urine from clinic to hospital etc; tray liners for dental and medical applications and in 2007 we are looking to expand into other areas.

Sow n Grow Mats 16-06-2006 |

Sirane is launching a new range of biodegradable mats and fleeces for sowing and growing seeds and plants. These replace unsustainable peat supplies for growing cress and salads and as they are available in any size, from punnet pads to very large sheets, they can be adapted to suit most needs.
They can be used under glass or in poly tunnels. Once the crop is harvested, the mats are simply rolled up and disposed of safely. Please contact us for further details.
Sirane is pleased also to announce a range of highly absorbent pouches for transporting medical phials of blood and urine. These also offer cushioning to protect the glass from cracking or breaking.
