Sirane's Sira-Cook MC set to take off 11-05-2010 |

Europe’s premier packaging solutions company, Sirane Ltd, is celebrating a rush of food packaging interest for its latest cook-in packaging innovation, Sira-Cook MC.
Jeremy Haydn Davies, Director of Sirane’s Food Packaging Division says that
‘We gave Sira-Cook a preliminary airing at Foodex in March, and even before its formal launch we have already produced hundreds of thousands of units – primarily for the seafood industry.’

This new product – a world first for chilled food - is likely to give Sirane cause for investment in new lines of machinery to match the expected demand. ‘Even by our own standards of innovation,’ says Haydn Davies, ‘Sira Cook has grabbed the imagination of the retailing and food sector for a number of reasons.’

Sirane welcomes Johanna Makinen to the sales team 30-04-2010 |

Europe’s premier packaging solutions company, Sirane Ltd, has appointed Johanna Makinen to its Food Packaging team, led by Jeremy Haydn-Davies. Johanna will work across all areas of the UK; has extensive experience of the food packaging sector and is well versed in all of Sirane’s target markets in meat, fresh produce – and in the fish market, where she is working straight-away on Sirane’s imminent launch of its Fish Pad range of products.
Johanna, 29, a business computing graduate from Surrey University and with a professional diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing - says that I am delighted to now be working with Sirane. From a sales and marketing perspective it’s fantastic to be able to work for a company that brings so many new solutions to the market.
Sirane’s work for the fish counter and fish transit markets is leading edge in this regard and – since last month’s Foodex – we are making great inroads into the customer base.’Johanna adds that ‘it’s also very satisfying to be contributing to a British-based source of innovation – and selling that work throughout the world.’

Sirane gains ISO9001:2008 accreditation 10-03-2010 |

Following a process lasting around six months, Sirane has had its work procedures accredited to the internationally recognised quality management system; ISO 9001: 2008.
Sirane has recognised the increasing demands of continually changing markets and have understood the advantage that an ISO accreditation would provide.
Whilst holding this accreditation emphasizes Sirane’s constant commitment to product quality, customer satisfaction and continual improvement it also shows our responsibility within the food packaging industry.
Sirane will now operate under the ISO9001:2008 and BRC/IOP standards and continue to deliver the quality and excellence within our Telford plant that you our customers expect.

Sirane eyes acquisitions and new product launches in 2010 04-12-2009 |

Absorbent food packaging specialist Sirane has said that it is looking for acquisitions and will launch a new range of compostable films as it gave a bullish outlook for 2010.
The £8m-turnover group, based in Telford, said that it would launch a new range of barrier and permeable films for meat and produce packaging that are fully compostable.

Last year we were contacted by some leading fruit growers to find a solution to the problem of effectively packaging soft fruits as conventional bubble packaging was not doing the job.
Sirane looked at this problem and the solution was immediately evident with our bio-degradable and bio-compostable absorbent food pad Dri-Fresh® Resolve®
Dri-Fresh® Resolve® offers cushioning with absorbency, excellent surface presentation and a variety of colours which help to completely enhance the produce. Fortunately for us, our customers agree!
This season the market has been vibrant and our sales are growing quickly. We are now working with and receiving orders from all over the UK and other European countries.

Sirane’s Dri-Fresh® Resolve® absorbent material is totally unique. We developed proprietary technology to produce a structure which combines a bio-polymeric micro-porous surface with a cellulosic core all bonded without the use of glues.
Dri-Fresh® Resolve® is certified to EN:13432 and his now regarded as the industry standard.
This is a busy time for growers and packers, and the feedback from our customers has been fantastic. The pad has helped drive down rejections from the end user and this has been predominantly due to the pads absorbent properties aided by its microscopic surface perforation to ensure effective air circulation around the produce.

Sirane acquires Thomas and Green’s Absorbency Business 01-08-2008 |

Sirane is pleased to announce that we have now officially acquired the absorbency business from Thomas & Green. This includes many products including the existing absorbent meat pad business and many new food related products including, waxed and absorbent boneguard, Shaped & Folded absorbent meat pads amongst many other things.
